Client: Brooklyn Nets (Self-Initiated Project)

Role: Brand & Visual Designer

Year: 2025

Overview

This conceptual rebrand explores how the Brooklyn Nets’ visual identity could be reimagined by fusing elements from the team’s 1997–2012 era with a contemporary, modern design approach. The project balances nostalgia and legacy with current sports branding expectations.

Approach

  • Reimagined the core brand direction by referencing the Nets’ 1997–2012 identity

  • Designed a secondary wordmark to complement the existing brand structure

  • Recreated the 1977–1990 home and away jerseys with modern proportions and detailing

  • Developed social media graphics aligned with the refreshed visual direction

  • Designed a branded hat concept to demonstrate merchandise application

Challenge

Reinterpret a globally recognized NBA franchise without losing its historical character, while creating assets that feel relevant for today’s digital-first, merchandise-driven sports landscape.

Outcome

The project demonstrates an ability to work within a legacy sports brand, blend historical references with modern execution, and apply a cohesive visual system across uniforms, merchandise, and digital media.
